FUEL PUMP REMOVAL TOOL TIPS
It is essential to use the Fuel Pump Removal Tool (J-54411) when removing the fuel pump from the 2016 TITAN XD Diesel to keep from damaging the engine. Severe damage can occur if the approved tool is not used.
Refer to the ESM for fuel pump tool installation and high-pressure fuel pump removal instructions.
NOTE:
When removing fuel system components, cap
all fuel system openings with the Cap Plug Kit -
Fuel System (J-54427).
Install the Fuel Pump Removal Tool onto the front cover using the bolts included with the tool.
NOTE:
- Take care not to use too much force withe the screw assembly when installing the Fuel Pump Removal Tool.
- The sprocket retainer rotates to aid you in guiding the fuel pump tool bolts into the fuel pump sprocket pilot holes.
