ON THE COVER

The 2014 Maxima

The 2014 Maxima was designed with an aggressive silhouette and power to match that embodies refinement and sports sedan styling. Maxima is equipped with an advanced drive train led by Nissan’s 290-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve VQ-series V6 engine. It features an innovative valve design coupled with variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust ports. This helps generate incredible torque for off-the-line acceleration and improved power at higher engine speeds. The Maxima comes standard with an Xtronic CVT® with manual and “DS” (Drive Sport) four driver-selectable modes, which provide great open-road performance without compromising control.

Built on the revolutionary D-platform, the Maxima delivers 4-door sports car performance. A stiffer, lighter suspension allows for quicker acceleration and enhanced agility. A high-strength body provides better handling and a smoother ride. Its fenders crouch low over dark-finished, available 19-inch alloy wheels and dual mufflers that show off its throaty roar and accentuate its commanding stance.

Enhancements for the 2014 model year include the addition of a Limited Edition Package (on 3.5 S models), featuring smoked appearance headlights, High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon headlights and a compass in the rearview mirror. It also includes 18-inch aluminum-alloy Dark Hyper Silver wheels, rear spoiler, fog lights and outside mirrors with integrated turn signals and metallic trim treatment. The SV grade adds standard RearView Monitor, USB connectivity, a 7.0-inch color monitor with QVGA display, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately). Maxima’s wide range of available technology includes a Bose® Premium Audio System with nine speakers and Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System with NavTraffic Real-Time Traffic Information, NavWeather (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately) and Voice Recognition.

The Maxima is a spacious 5-seater that features a driver-oriented cockpit with ample comfort and luxury. Its interior is crafted with premium materials and can be equipped with a heated steering wheel, rear bucket seats and an optional dual-panel moon roof.
