New Fuel-Filler Cap Design
In an effort to improve fuel-filler cap fit and seal Nissan has designed a new fuel cap and filler tube neck (thread design) applicable as a running change on some Nissan and Infiniti MY 10-11 vehicles. The new fuel-filler caps and filler tube necks will be adopted at SOP on all MY12 vehicles and beyond. The following charts indicate the adoption of the component change for the listed vehicle.

Note: DO NOT try to fit the new fuel-filler cap onto a vehicle that was manufactured prior to the adoption date of the component change. The cap may seem to fit, but will not secure completely. Applying a new fuel-filler cap onto vehicles with a fuel-filler tube built prior to the change will cause the Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) to illuminate because the cap is loose.
