Seats

The JX35 has leather appointed seating. The front seats will have an 8-way power driver's seat and a 6-way power front passenger's seat. Heated front seats are standard, and they're also available with climate-control (heating and cooling functions) and heated second-row seats (outboard only). The standard heated front seat will have a six-position switch, which changes the temperature in one-degree increments to provide heating for all of the leg and back area of the occupant. The heat coverage area is optimized to ensure heat for the entire contact area and quick temperature change.

Front Seats - Dual Monitors

The front seats offer dual monitors (Driver and Passenger Seat head restraints)

The head restraint monitors are available as a factoryinstalled or dealer-installed option. The factory-installed option contains a 7-inch WVGA color monitor system (same as the QX56 monitor). Dual monitors are also available as a dealer-installed option that use the same monitor as the Nissan Murano.

For the dealer-installed option: There is a DVD prewiring jumper harness included in the front seats along with a harness protector provision to assist in making installation a snap.

Front Seats – Heated or Climate Control Seats (CCS)

The standard front seats have a six-Way multi-position heater. The six-position heater will heat at 1° increments from 100-109°F (38-43°C). The temperature will be controlled by a rotary dial on the center console. The heat coverage area is optimized to ensure heat for the entire contact area (seatback and cushion) and for quick heat-up time.

The front climate-controlled seat option uses an internal thermal electric device (TED). The system contains a climate-control module under the seat cushion along with a blower motor for the cushion and a second blower motor for the seat back. The climate-controlled seat is controlled with a rotary dial for varying levels of both heating and cooling. The climate-control switch is located on the center console and contains three cooling positions and three heating positions.

The Thermal Electric Device (TED) installed in the seat cushion and seat back is a heat exchanger that has a function to heat or cool the airflow from the climate-controlled seat blower motor. By changing the direction of the current from the power supply, the device takes or gives heat and adjusts the heat exchange process, depending on voltage.

Second-Row Seats

The second-row seats offer the functionality of 280 combinations of comfort-adjusted positions.

The second-row seat is a 60/40 seat with a one touch walk-in function. The optional heated second-row (outboard only) is controlled by a 2-position switch on the rear of the center console.

To access the third-row from outside the vehicle use the seatback release lever located on the second-row seatback. If a child safety seat is installed on the second-row seat, the third row can be accessed without removing the child safety seat.

To enter the third-row seat from outside the vehicle, lift up on the seatback lever located on the upper outboard side of the seatbacks on the second-row seat. This will release the back of the seat and fold up the seat cushion. This will also release the seat tracks so you will be able to slide the seat forward or backward.

Slide the entire seat forward for access to the rear seat.

To return the seat to a locked position, push the upper seatback rearward until the seatback and track are locked. Push the seat cushion down.

The second-row seats are also equipped with a fold flat cargo mode function.

Third-Row Seats

The third-row seats are 50/50 split-folding design to allow additional cargo room in the rear of the vehicle. The third-row seats can also recline over a 12 degree range for added passenger comfort. The third-row head restraints fold forward for improved visibility and when folding the seats flat.

Removal and Installation Special Tools

For second-row seat removal, the front-rail covers should be removed first, and then rear rail covers. The rails should be replaced in opposite order for installation.

During second-row seat removal and reinstallation it is critical to attach front rail and rear rail cross braces (special tools needed) before removing the seat fixing bolts. This will ensure the rail alignment for forward or backward seat slide functionality.

Note: Installation of the special tool cross braces is necessary only if the seat is to be removed and then reinstalled into the vehicle. If a new seat is ordered, it will already include the cross braces.

Important Note: The Cross Brace bolts are reverse threaded.

Inverter Unit System

The JX can be equipped with an inverter unit that converts 12V DC to 120V AC. The AC 120V outlet allows use of AC components up to 150W.

• When turning ON the AC 120V outlet main switch with the ignition switch ON, the Indicator turns ON and the inverter unit is activated, allowing the use of devices up to 150W.

• The inverter unit converts 12V DC to 120V AC and outputs the converted voltage to the AC 120V outlet two seconds after the AC 120V outlet main switch is turned ON.

If the inverter unit input voltage rises above 15V, the output will be suspended to protect the inverter unit. After the inverter unit power supply voltage drops below 15V, switching the outlet main switch ON, OFF, and then ON again will allow the AC 120V inverter to return to normal operation.

Advanced Climate Control System (accs)

The new JX35 can be equipped with an advanced climate control system that keeps the air inside of the vehicle clean and odor free. It does this by utilizing:

• An outside odor and exhaust gas detecting sensor for automatic air intake control.

• A "next generation" high-density plasma cluster ion control system.

• A grape polyphenol filter.

The design intention of the advanced climate control system is to provide controllability and comfort throughout the vehicle.

Passenger Controllability and Comfort

The Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control system includes a front HVAC system and microfilter, a booster fan in the center console, and a PTC heater between the first-row seats for the second-row. For the rear passenger zone, its equipped with an Auxiliary evaporator and blower motor (behind RH rear quarter trim) with third-row side trim air vents.

The Tri-zone system allows each zone passenger to set individual automatic temperature.

• The rear HVAC switch controls air volume and temperature for second and third row independently from the driver and front passenger zone.

• The front HVAC control has exclusive rear passenger temperature control. The rear automatic air conditioning system can be adjusted with the front air conditioner control.

• The rear passenger zone temperature and air volume incorporates both front and rear units that discharge air to achieve the desired level.

• All switch control commands and responses are sent across the LIN (Local Interconnect Network) to each motor simultaneously, with each motor having its own unique address, thereby responding only to requests sent to its specific address.

The Tri-zone HVAC system offers balance between comfort and roominess. This design helps contribute to second- and third-seat passenger roominess because the air outlets in these zones are located at the end of the console and in the side panel trim.

Important Note: If the battery cable is disconnected from the negative terminal, or if the battery voltage becomes 10 V or less, all temperature and control memory function settings may be cancelled.

Automatic Air Intake Control Functions

The Infiniti JX35 vehicle ACCS with auto recirculation has an outside odor and exhaust gas detection sensor. When the automatic intake air control is ON, this sensor detects odors and exhaust gas. When such odors or exhaust are detected, the system automatically changes from the outside air circulation mode to recirculation mode.

The exhaust gas sensor can detect not only exhaust gas but also outside odors (i.e. industry odors such as pulp or chemicals and farm animals). Other manufacturers have adopted similar systems that can only detect exhaust gas.

Operation

When the system is ON for the first five minutes, the recirculation mode automatically changes to prevent dust, dirt and pollen from entering the vehicle, and the system cleans the air inside of the vehicle via the grape polyphenol filter and ion generator. After five minutes, the outside odor and exhaust gas sensor activates and automatically alternates between recirculation mode and outside air circulation mode.

High Density Plasmacluster™ Ion Generator

The High Density Plasmacluster™ Ion Generator is designed to reduce odors as they adhere onto the interior trim surfaces of the vehicle. It does this by supplying a high density of ions into the ventilation airflow which helps suppress airborne bacteria by providing anti-bacterial deodorization. The latest version of Plasmacluster™ Ion Generator is equipped with a high-density concentration of Plasmacluster™ ions that have been proven to help keep skin naturally moisturized. In addition to decreasing odor, the ion generator performs a sterilization by essentially breaking down or deactivating bacteria, virus and allergens.

How it Works

The Plasmacluster™ control function operates when the blower motor operates. The unit generates Plasmacluster™ ions into the air blown from the ventilators. It also increases its generation to control the amount of ions according to the amount of air flow.

• When the air flow is more than 4/7, is displayed on the screen ("QUICK CLEAN" means a large amount of Plasmacluster ions are being diffused).

• When the air flow is less than 3/7, the indicator on the screen changes to .

Grape Seed Polyphenol Filter

The Grape Seed Polyphenol Filter is designed to help reduce allergens. This new in-cabin optional microfilter restricts the entry of air-borne dust and pollen particles and reduces some objectionable outside odors. The filter is located behind the glove box. This microfilter actually inactivates allergens by filtering them through a fiber impregnated with natural grape seed polyphenol. The filter reduces the effect of cedar pollen allergens by 88%, representing an improvement about five times higher than monomeric polyphenol such as catechin that is used in previous microfilters.

Intelligent Key System

There are two different Intelligent Key fobs available for the Infiniti JX. Vehicles can be equipped with a remote engine start feature option. These vehicles will have a remote start button (RES) for the remote engine start feature option on the keyfob. The remote start feature will allow the driver to start the vehicle from a remote location up to approximately 197 ft (60 m) away. To operate, aim the key at the vehicle and press the LOCK button to lock all the doors. Within five seconds press and hold the remote start button until the turn signal lights illuminate.

Note: If the vehicle is not in view, press and hold the remote start button for two seconds.

Remote Engine Start Function

When the engine starts, the parking lights will turn on and remain on as long as the engine is running. The engine will continue to run for 10 minutes, until the customer:

• Enters the vehicle using the I-Key system or unlocks the vehicle using the keyless remote, and exits RES to Normal Drive mode by pressing the brake pedal and pushing the IGN button.

OR

• Aims the key at the vehicle, and presses and hold the RES button, until the parking lights turn off.

Extending Engine Run Time

The remote start feature can be extended one time. After the engine has started by performing the remote start function, repeating the steps, will extend the RES time for 10 minutes. The second 10 minutes will start immediately, extending the time.

Four Intelligent Keys can be registered and used with one vehicle. Each key can store the climate control setting, navigation system (if equipped) and the audio system presets. Each key can be synchronized with one of the two Automatic Drive Positioner memorized function settings to adjust the driver's seat, mirrors and steering wheel position.

Note: A maximum of two remote starts, or a single start and an extension, can occur between ignition cycles.

Power Windows

The Infiniti JX is equipped with driver's side power windows controls that include an automatic down/up feature to open or close all the front and rear windows. The front and rear passenger power window switches open or close only the corresponding windows.

The windows also have an auto-reverse function that can be activated when a window is closed by automatic operation. If the control unit detects something caught in a window as it is closing, the window will be immediately lowered.

Door Locks

The JX is equipped with power door locks that can be programmed to automatically lock when the vehicle speed reaches 15 MPH (24 km/h). They will automatically unlock once the key is placed in the OFF position.

The automatic door locks can be programmed to unlock just the driver's door or unlock all doors using the vehicle settings in the Vehicle information display. The automatic door unlock choices are:

• OFF

• IGN OFF

• Shift into P

Note: If the vehicle's battery is disconnected, replaced or jump started, the power window auto-reverse may not operate properly. The power window system will need to be initialized.

Retained Accessory Power

The power windows and moonroof will operate for a period of time after the ignition switch is in the OFF position. This feature allows the driver to close any open windows and the moonroof before exiting the vehicle. The retained accessory power will stop once a door is opened with the ignition in the OFF position.
