New ICC Aiming Tool and Procedure

The new ICC radar sensor on the JX requires a new aiming tool and alignment procedure. The ICC System uses a millimeter wave sensor. It emits mm waves to detect radar reflected from a vehicle ahead. The new design was adopted because it’s less vulnerable to rain and dirt. It can also discriminate more objects and can be hidden behind the bumper fascia of the vehicle.

When performing the new alignment procedure, you will be setting a target, for adjusting the vertical and horizontal axis alignment of the radar sensor and checking results in CONSULT. It will be necessary to measure 3 different axis points when performing the aiming adjustment.

Power Window System Initialization

The following specified operations cannot be performed under the non-initialized condition:

Reinitialization is necessary for normal operation of power window system If any of the following repair operations are performed:

Initialization Procedure

1. Turn ignition switch ON.

2. Operate power window switch to fully open the window.

3. Hold the window up switch UP until it completely closes. After the glass stops at fully closed position, keep pulling the switch for two seconds or more.

4. Check that the AUTO-UP function operates normally.

NOTE: Note: You must perform an initialization procedure when the vehicle’s power window system has switched to fail-safe mode. However, the power window system may switch back to fail-safe control if a malfunction is still present in a power window switch or motor.

Sunroof /Moonroof Initialization

If the moonroof does not open or close automatically, use the following procedure to return moonroof operation to normal function with initialization:

1. Turn ignition switch ON.

2. Push and hold the moonroof tilt switch forward until the moonroof stops.

Reprogramming the JX

CONSULT is being updated to handle the 30-minute IPDM E/R Timeout (Power cutoff) on the JX vehicle.

If performing reprogramming on the JX becomes necessary, CONSULT-III plus transmits “ignition timer prohibition” command to the BCM. “Ignition timer” is forbidden while BCM is carrying out stoppage judgment on CAN monitor.

When CONSULT-III plus connects, “ignition timer prohibition” command is transmitted to the BCM. IGN timer is “ignored” if CONSULT is plugged in.

New Harness Repair Tools and Connectors

The new JX vehicle will utilize some new, smaller diameter “lightweight wiring”. The new wire is used in certain locations for a “signal wire.” If any repair of the new wire becomes necessary, it will require special attention when stripping the wire to avoid cutting into the copper strands of the harness wire. The next update to the Harness Repair Kit will include a new wire stripper tool, new solder sleeve connectors and new special connectors for handling these new wires.

Seat Removal and Installation Special Tools

If it becomes necessary for a second-row seat to be removed for any reason, and it will be re-installed into the vehicle, special tools are needed. Front and rear cross braces are required that properly align the rails (to ensure slide efforts). These cross braces are to be removed AFTER the seat is torqued down into the vehicle. If a new seat is ordered, it will already include the cross braces.
