B2562 Battery Low Voltage Code

You have a customer who has experienced a “dead battery” vehicle condition. You can use the CONSULT tool (depending on the vehicle model) to see if they had possibly left the ignition in the “ACC” or “ON” position when the discharge occurred.

If on an applicable vehicle there is a B2562 code present, pull the FFD for the code. The value shown for the vehicle condition will be “Lock”, “ON”, or “ACC” depending on the state of the ignition when the battery discharged. The IGN Counter will also give the number of times the ignition has been cycled since the low voltage condition.

If this was the probable cause of their “dead battery”, this review of the FFD results will help you notify a customer that they had left the ignition in the “ACC” or “ON” position to the extent of discharging the battery.
