Evolution never stops for the Nissan GT-R. The 2015 GT-R’s chassis enhancements for the new model year are balanced between the suspension, steering and braking systems and tire design. While chassis development has been ongoing since the GT-R’s introduction, the 4-wheel independent suspension for the 2015 model year has been fine-tuned to reduce load fluctuation between the four wheels to help provide better road handling and improved grip.

Along with the recalibrated suspension, the 2015 GT-R features an enhanced exterior with LED lamp technology, a distinctive front and rear design and an added premium cabin interior with improved quality and trim options.

Adding premium appeal to the exterior and interior design, the 2015 Nissan GT-R delivers sophisticated driving pleasure and is the ultimate embodiment of Nissan’s brand philosophy: “Innovation that excites.”

Chassis Improvements

With outstanding adhesion from its tires, the GT-R is capable of stunning acceleration and braking performance. The suspension was fine-tuned to reduced load fluctuation between the four wheels, giving enhanced handling and improved grip.

For 2015, more consistent tire contact has been achieved by optimizing the electronic control of the shock absorber valves as well as utilizing modified front stabilizer spring rates and updated bush links. The tuning of these parts, which makes best use of the suspension strokes, helps enhance road holding capability and gives improved tire contact and outstanding traction on rough roads.

To help assure a comfortable ride, vibration and road noise have been reduced. An additional benefit is improved straight-line stability with fewer small steering corrections needed to maintain trajectory during highway driving.

Every 2015 GT-R features a special Bilstein® DampTronic, driver-adjustable, shock absorber system that utilizes multiple vehicle information systems to provide appropriate damping forces and a high level of control for a variety of driving situations. The DampTronic system features three driver selectable settings - Normal, Comfort for maximum suspension compliance or R. The same three-stage adjustability is also available for the VDC system and transmission shift operation.

The GT-R Track Edition includes specialized Bilstein® DampTronic gas pressure shock absorbers and higher spring rates. As in previous years, the suspension is mounted to high-precision, six-point front and rear subframes.

The braking calibration has been retuned for a more firm, linear response. Braking is provided by Brembo® monoblock six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers with 15.35-inch front and 15.0-inch rear Brembo® full-floating, cross-drilled, two-piece rotors and low-steel, high-stiffness brake pads that help minimize fade. The calipers utilize race car-style radial mounting that helps minimize caliper flex during heavy braking.

The GT-R’s rigid, forged aluminum 20-inch wheels, manufactured by RAYS®, feature knurling inside the wheels to help keep the tires from slipping around the wheels under heavy acceleration or braking. The wheels feature a premium dark (near black) finish, which provides a high-quality, high-performance look. The Black Edition and Track Edition feature special metallic black, sixspoke, RAYS® forged lightweight wheels in place of the Premium model’s 10-spoke design.

The GT-R’s steering has been fine-tuned to reduce the effort required for city driving maneuvers while maintaining its exceptional feedback during highway driving. The steering system is a vehicle speed-sensitive power rack-and-pinion design with aluminum steering rack, four-point mounting and stiff insulators.

Exterior Design - Dazzling Motion When Standing Still

The 2015 Nissan GT-R maintains its position as one of the most striking supercars in the market. Significant updates to the Nissan GT-R’s lights enhance the visual impact of the car. Customers looking for added visual impact now have a wider color palette from which to choose.

The 2015 Nissan GT-R sports new efficient, high-intensity, multi-LED headlights that create a distinctive “lightning” motif, generating a striking exterior visual signature. With such a unique visual reference, the GT-R’s road presence is enhanced, particularly in low light and at night – while the fitment of the new headlights gives the driver increased visibility.

The new headlights feature an Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) that automatically adapts the angle of the light beam according to the speed of the car. At highway speeds, actuators in the headlight unit adjust the angle of the projectors to project the light further. The four LED units are configured with new intensive LED high beam and three different LED low beams including long-distanceillumination and wide-illumination.

At the rear, the GT-R’s distinctive four-ring tail light signature now forms coherent circles of illumination, giving the GT-R an equally distinctive rear appearance, which makes it easily recognizable to fellow owners and enthusiasts.

Upon start up, the full, new, lighting signature is illuminated, creating a dramatic start-up procedure.

Visual appeal is reinforced with the addition of a new body color called Gold Flake Red Pearl. As its name suggests, there are microscopic, gold-tinted glass flakes infused into the red paint, creating a spectacular effect in the deep, lustrous paint as the light catches the finish.

Interior - Upscale Cabin Appointments

The choice of three interior color schemes includes a new pale ivory trim option. The steering wheel is trimmed in leather for premium tactility while the part-aniline leather seats are further embellished with stitched accents, giving the ambience of a genuine GT designed for crosscontinental, first-class travel.

The GT-R Black Edition adds a unique red and black interior color treatment and Recaro® leather-appointed seats along with red steering wheel accents.

The Track Edition includes unique blue-trimmed, high-grip front seats and now features heating in the front passenger’s seat as well as the inclusion of the rear seats.

Body Construction - Advanced Body Construction

To achieve the project’s ambitious targets for higher speed handling and ride comfort, Nissan enhanced the level of precision-constructed body elements and advanced assembly methods to create the 2015 Nissan GT-R. Each part is made of materials selected for optimum performance. The precision-constructed, multi-material hybrid body combines steel, carbon fiber and die-cast aluminum to achieve high stiffness and light weight.

Thanks to the rigidity of the GT-R’s body construction, suspension precision is accomplished while refinement is enhanced, resulting in exceptional cabin refinement even at higher speeds and under hard cornering. Thanks to optimized insulation and acoustic tuning, even at highway speeds, the occupants are able to enjoy the sporty engine sound.

An optional carbon rear wing is offered, which is attached to a carbon trunk lid and is half the weight of a standard trunk lid.
