A new earless-type boot band is being used for Rogue (T32), Pathfinder (P42K) and Infiniti JX (P42J). This new boot band will also be used on the front driveshafts of the new Murano (P42M).

When servicing both CV boots and CV joints, use the J-51751 CV Boot Clamp Plier to help prevent damage to the CV boot during installation. This NNA-approved service tool will help ensure that the CV joint will be properly sealed from water, dirt and other contaminants when you are reinstalling the boot clamp.

Using the right tool for servicing CV boots and joints is important to do the job properly and get it done quickly. You can now order this tool through your Tech-Mate Program - it is the “must have” tool for working on the new earless-type clamps.

NOTE:
After installing the CV housing and shaft, install the boot securely into the grooves, tighten the bands and ensure that the boot does not slip on the shaft and remains securely in the grooves. If the boot does slip or is not in the grooves, remove the boot bands, reposition the boot and secure it with the boot bands. Make sure that the boot installation length is the specified length.
